Beginning at 12:01 AM, Tuesday, September 11, 2012 for approximately 6 hours, Randolph Telephone will move many of their customers to a new telephone switch. This move will affect customers' abilities to Dial 9-1-1 while the cuterover takes place.
Customers in the 879, 464 and 581 exchange will not have any land line telephone service during this time.
Cell phone service to 9-1-1 will not be affected by this outage.
All services are expected to be completely restored by 6:00 AM Tuesday morning.
If a citizen is unable to contact 9-1-1 by telephone during this outage, the following fire departments in Randolph, Chatham and Moore Counties will be staffed:
