For Immediate Release: Press Release #12

FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistant Teams (DSA) will be going door-to-door to meet with residents.  Team members will have shirts and ID badges identifying them as FEMA personnel.  They will be asking people for bank account information as well as social security numbers to get them registered for assistance. If the public does not feel comfortable giving this information directly to them, they can go online to register for assistance.  FEMA personnel will be in the areas with damage only between the hours of 8:30 am – 5:30 pm over the next 2 weeks.  If you have concerns please feel free to contact 9-1-1 or Moore County Sheriff’s office at 910-947-2931.


FEMA has established a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at the Crains Creek Volunteer Fire Department 4525 Lobelia Road, Vass NC.  Hours of operations will be Monday – Saturday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm, closed on Sunday.  FEMA will be on-site for approximately 1 week.

NC DOT reports that Lobelia Road (2 locations) have been opened to traffic.
