Restoring Power After a Storm
Consider all power lines – as well as trees, branches and anything else in contact with power lines – energized and dangerous. Power restoration is a process. Visit the following link to see the steps to restoring power following a storm. https://www.duke-energy.com/outages/restoring-your-power

Current outages across the state/company can be viewed here,  www.duke-energy.com/outages.

We also understand that one piece of pressing information for many is when their power will be restored. Please continue to check the outage map, www.duke-energy.com/outages, for the latest restoration information.

IMPORTANT DETAILS (Please Read) - Please recognize that these restoration times represent when ALL customers in that area will be restored. MOST customers will be restored before this time, but in some of those hardest-hit communities where flood waters have devastated homes and businesses, some customers may extend beyond that date. These estimated times of restoration assume that electrical facilities have recovered from current flooding situations.

Let me assure you, crews have been here throughout the storm and have been working to restore power. We positioned additional crews close to where we expected to see the most storm damage and have successfully moved many additional workers into the area. Now that weather conditions are improving, we have been able to continue damage assessments, restore some critical services and attack restoration efforts.

We are updating customers with this information and have already sent text messages and voice calls to customers letting them know to check our online map for more information.
Outage Reporting
·         Text OUT to 57801 (standard text and data charges may apply). If you haven’t registered yet, text REG to 57801.
·         Call the automated outage-reporting system at 800-419-6356 for Duke Energy Progress customers.

Please help us stress that these restoration times are for those areas with the most damage, and customers across the region will see the power come back on from now until the final customer is restored.

Thank you,

David
