BASIC SKYWARN, Severe Weather Spotter Training / Free and Open to the Public

630 pm – 9 pm…BASIC SKYWARN Spotter Training

Severe Weather Spotter Training

The National Weather Service will present a Severe Weather Spotter training program to help participants understand severe weather in the local area. We will also discuss the recent April 16th tornado outbreak.

The following topics will be covered… how and why buildings fail in high winds,  thunderstorm development, and severity recognition of storm/cloud elements, anticipating storm motion, intensity and severity based on cloud structure, and a review of the April 16th tornado outbreak.

72 Hour Family Disaster Kits
Moore County Emergency Notification System
Moore County Public Safety Social Media Campaign
Volunteer Agency Recruitment Activities (ARC, CERT, MRC, ARES)
